The show pushes it's limits with it's performances – specially with Dominique Tipper delivering a great one in the most recent 5th season, and I hope she gets some due recognition for it. The show is a classic case of a science fiction story not getting enough recognition for it's creativity and acting credits. "The Expanse" isn't very science heavy, but it does indulge in galactic and cyberpunk themes and some of the dialogue and combat scenes are in consequence, rapid and swift. Eventually, Amazon did the good deed and we're on the verge of seeing a 6th and final season sometime in 2021/22. Martin, the man who conceptualized "Game Of Thrones", was one of many celebrities who supported an online petition for the streaming giants to pick up the series again. It isn't surprising that when the show was cancelled after the 3rd season, George R. Coleman, Cara Gee, Nadine Nicole, Keon Alexander and many others join in as key supporting roles in the story that doesn't color anyone in a single shade. The cast is lead by Thomas Jane and an ensemble of actors that really haven't broken out big – Steven Strait from "10,000 BC" (2008), Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Cas Anwar, Frankie Adams and Shohreh Aghdashloo who play prime characters in the saga. ![]() Unbeknownst, they all set out on a tangled path that will reveal a sinister conspiracy that may trigger a war of the factions. A group of operators on a mining ship pick up a distress signal from another vessel, seemingly hidden in an asteroid, while Joe Miller, a run down detective in Ceres (a large asteroid/dwarf planet) picks up a job to trace Julie Mao, a rich heiress. The plot revolves around a very plausible future – centuries ahead of the present, when our solar system is divided into 3 main factions – the Earth, a colonized Mars and the working class who occupy asteroids and the moons of the outer planets.
